Read that a few people had these on, got a couple on the rear to replace some very worn pilot sports.

Can't say I'm liking it so far felt like the back was wallowing around a bit, finally leading to a pretty unpleasant moment' when overtaking.

Cruising down the m1 it felt awful changing lanes too.

Any thoughts?

Will do, what should they be? They physically felt a bit softerbthan I was expecting, but the good old halfrauds pump has packed up...

A stickier front end (looser rear) would explain your symptons.

As above, make sure you have the recommended tyre pressures.

I personally wouldn't deliberately mix tyre types on a performance car, unless it was for a specific reason.

The fronts are approx 6k old pirellis, the rears previously were very worn, last weekend in the rain it was slippery but predictable, this feels like wallowing tyres, reason for asking about tyre type is because of ferret complaining about weak sidewalls etc on a set once.

I'll check the pressures and get them sorted and see how that helps things.

I'll have to check in the morning, I know they're 90 something Y 'extra load', but I wouldn't bet on whether they're 93 or 97. Gut is now thinking 93 which may be the problem? I'm sure they're the same as the fronts rating wise though, I'll have to check.

Hopefully it's just pressures, otherwise I'll be selling these and getting some Michelins.

What size are these ZZ3's Sturdy?.....I need some for my fronts as my Potenza's have excessive wear on the inner edge!! (guessing they may be to big for my CV8

sturdy,

what you are explaining is exactly the same issue i had with a set of good years. the tyres wherer all corrected sizes and pressures. the only way i got over it in the end was to over inflate the tyres by 4PSI and this counter acted 90% of the wobble untill i could afford to get new ones..

i learnt my lesson the hard way and just stuck with what i knew.

This is your best bet IMHO
You are used to PSS on the rears so anything else will feel crap.
again IMHO..

I'd give them a few hundred miles first, before spending more money. If they're brand new it takes a while to even burn off the release agent, let alone get them settled in.

Snowwolf swears by Avons. I know he had them on his Monaro, so may be worth giving him a heads-up on this thread.

Got them on mine after a couple of suggestions from members on here and they haven't put a foot wrong. Got a decent deal at SE tyres too!

Kwik fit man slagged off the tyres and branded my car as 'just a Vauxhall' in the pub what does he know!

I had two full sets of Avon in the time I had the Ro, they were the 97Y side wall, loved them and so does the new owner of the car. I also had the pedders suspension, and I think they matched each other well.

Have checked the order emails, the rears are 93Y XL same as the fronts pirellis.

I'll make sure they're pressured correctly then give them a few miles to settle in.

If they're still not OK with proper pressure etc. I'll just have to give them the dreamtoy treatment to get them out of the way wink

I stll think its because you have gone down the food chain in tyres,
thats this is what you are noticing yes (IMHO)
