Before i part with a small wedge...
What would be the issues with ordering a 275/30/R19's for the VXR8 ? Rather than the stock 275/35/R19's
Camskill have a huge price difference between the 2 sizes. Didnt know if it made that much of a difference ? Cheers

Gearing drops 4% with the 30-profile - too much for me personally. Can't comment on the VXR8, but most cars with ESP systems will throw fits unless you perform a similar gearing adjustment on the front too (as otherwise it thinks the rears are over-speeding slightly all the time). At 70mph you'd be doing 3mph less than whatever under-read error your car has at the moment. Your odometer will over-read by an additional 4%. (on the upside you'll think you're getting better mpg ) Your in-gear v-max will drop too, including your theoretical top-speed. Who TF wants a car that is only geared for 235mph??? Rubbish! Gear - std vmax (mph) - reduced vmax (mph) 1st - 46.4 - 44.5 2nd - 67.5 - 64.7 3rd - 97.7 - 93.7 4th - 139.6 - 134 5th - 166.2 - 159.5 6th - 245.0 - 235.0

The 285/35x19 Pilot Super Sport is NOT on the price list as yet, so who knows........ The 275/35x19 100Y XL Pilot Super Sport is available and the fitted price is £342.00 inc vat each.

Sorry - above figures are for the VXR8. I confused things with the statement "Can't comment on the VXR8, but most cars with ESP systems will throw fits unless you perform a similar gearing adjustment on the front too". What I meant was - most cars with ESP systems will throw hissy fits if you change tyre size at one end only. (Many - such as the RX8 - will trigger the ESP in stupid places if you just have new tyres at one end and heavily worn at the other). I assume the VXR8 will be the same, but wasn't sure how much lattitude it allows before triggering (it'll certainly allow a fair amount of slip before it wakes up). If anyone can point me towards Monaro 'box and final drive ratios it's easy enough to work out the same numbers for them.
