Getting a Monaro round the 'Ring would be like trying to catch a greased Piglet in an oil bath....good luck

Took out m3's on the straights, just don't try chasing porkers. I'm going end of June! Will be taking the monaro if the weather is changeable, or an older anglo/american roadster if reasonably fine. I think the Monaro should be ok. It's limits are modest and progressive, and I don't think it has any major aero vices. Bar the unpredictable traction control (best turned off) and given brakes, tyres and dampers in good order I can't see any major problem. Scariest moment for me came as a passenger in a Mk1 TT several years back. The back stepped out suddenly at over 100 approaching Schwedenkreuz. Fortunately the driver didn't lift completely or i'm certain we would have crashed heavily. Caused by bad aero, as the car understeered heavily at low speed. A member of the family is taking a ZR1 (LS9). Anticipating that will be the car giving me a cold sweat, rather than the 'ro.

Be careful. My mate was in the middle of this last October. Fortunately every one missed him. He is in a blue TVR that appears at the back of the shot on the right and is just missed by the ring taxi(headlights on) which hit an m3 and a corvette and then the barrier. forward to min 9:55 www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXTXGY1sUeA

Take it easy. My advice is not to worry about the time, more than likely you will find the place pretty crowded and by the time you pick your way round the slower stuff whilst at the same time keeping out of the way of the really quick cars any time is purely academic. Enjoy and be safe!

Might see you there then Granby, I'll be in the blue CV8...
Gsd,I reckon between a 8min 50 to 9 min should be quite attainable depending on traffic/weather etc, I once managed an 8min 52 the other year in traffic in my old car. I would say on a clear lap I might have been able to get that down by some 10/15 secs, difficult to say though eh?
