richie slow said: I think I just got shafted. BTW it was a Vectra, so it serves me right I suppose. I ended up losing £12k in 18 months with that car and it spent most of it's time off the road awaiting parts. They were all known issues but that didn't stop the sloping shoulders brigade in Luton from making life as difficult as possible. Approaching the end of the warranty period with another knackered autobox I had no choice but to get rid. I feel a little sorry for the next owner, for me it was a bit like a game of pass the parcel only with a live grenade That said, Fleet Management have shifted some very nice low mileage cars at very good prices. I wasn't lucky. You've had a grandad autobox Had my r8 from new 88 miles on clock, was pre-registered though.

I bought mine new, paid list price just turned 7 years old I had to wait 4 weeks for delivery because it was being shipped at the time, it now has 30k a few must have mods, only ever driven by me (and the odd Monkfish/Green's technician). It still makes me smile every startup, and getting up on dirty earlies is so much easier when driving the Ro to work.

Got mine pre reg with just 7 miles on the clock so effectively new. Just tipped 11k miles, no plans what so ever to part company.

Brand spanking new from Greens on 1st June 2006 and garaged ever since. Never been touched by salt. The SORN takes the edge off the Road Tax!

BI6VXR said: 12k saving for the pre reg took the edge off it being pre reg. Me too. Bought mine as pre-Reg with about 5 miles on the clock in Sept 2009 (59 Reg) and saved a similar amount. Couldn't resist the deal. Never had a new car before (my wife always gets a new company car) due to the depreciation but a saving like that compensates. It's been one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever had and I've had the usual gamut of 'nice' cars. Way exceeded expectations. I've been thinking about changing it for a convertible for ages as I've also got a Range Rover for practical use so having 2 (3 inc the wife's) tin-tops doesn't make much sense. Problem is I really love the VXR8 and know I'll never be able to get one as good again as it's mint with just 8k on the clock. Never had this problem before. I don't normally get attached to cars but this one has got under my skin.

Mine is definitely not one owner. According to the DVLA I have owned it twice!
