I can't recommend GoPro enough. The only thing that lets my videos down is my editing skills, not the quality of the footage.

Used GoPro 2s are around £150-200 depending on add-ins. The new GoPro 3 is coming out in a couple of weeks, so the prices may drop further.

Failing that, buy a GoPro 1 and there is a mod to solder/wire in an external mic. I'm kack-handed when it comes to electrical stuff, but for a man of your talent, it'll just be a walk in the park

Only thing is, I haven't worked out a way to be able stay in front to hear your car accelerate

if your good at soldering then you can mod a gopro hd hero1 to have external mic output, otherwise send tinker-27 an email he found some good cheap cameras. Bullet cam style

yes bullit cams are proved to be best but at a serious price . like me with go-pro 1 experiment and use baffles to kill the wind noise.. mikie gave me a few hints but there are different backings to camera. when im out in kayak the waterproof case gives a great water noise..but use this on road kills a lot of 'good'noises . placing the camera is main object of gettin the best 'noise'results.stick it up your pipes......

Nice to speak to you again Ade. It was a shame we all got split up. Perhaps next time we have an intermittent meet nearer the tunnel, with proper directions/post code to get to it
