As the stock manual ratios are far from ideal are the auto ones any better??

Standard gear ratios are fine if you have more power.

Ive the tall 2.66 1st and 0.5 6th gear set in mine and no complaints really.
Could there be some small improvements ? possibly, but there could also be lots of negatives too.

A lot of auto's, at least old ones run a 1:1 top gear so a very tall diff ration is essential for it to be of any use. The more modern stuff may have an overdriven top gear, but I dont think any would be as tall as a manual gearset ?

Sounds like you were not running an act twin mate.
Totally stock feel. 850ftlb.

I've just installed a strip spec 4l60e to the Camaro.
Its ready to line up against yours at the strip.
Stock displacement na. Waiting to kill Stroker fi cars

Have the use of a supercharged Atom if you care to have a go, I'm sure we will all see how superior FI is, using your own unbalanced methods too

The Atom 300 manages 11.4 @ 115mph, which is a bit mild really.

My point exactly, you can't compare an Auto Camaro against a manual Monaro with any more reliability of outcome than you could against an Atom.
The only real way, and Ringram knows this, is to run EXACTLY the same cars.
Anything else is pointless and a waste of time.

Why then were people comparing Roger's monaro times against mine. He only beat me by 1/100 sec with 200kg lighter car.
Strange when the comparison was being made by the FI crowd this was fine...

In which case perhaps we can ask if anyone has their manual vxr8 faster than 12.6 on street tires?
I bet the answer is no. Which is then a win for NA either way you look at it.

I think the last place most Atom owners will care about racing is a drag strip though, so not a valid comparison.

There may be cars that can go quicker of that short straight distance. but on the road or race track, they wouldnt see where the Atom went.

I think the Atom would probably rear end most of our cars when it comes around to lap us lol. We'd be stuck in its grill !
