Done 4 or 5 cars tonight but had issues with custom txt for hsv shutdowns. Year of car seemed to overwrite last 4 digits on first shutdown and then had screen corruption so reverted to one of the inbuilt options, hsv or coupe as per owner's preference. Will need to have another look at the 30 odd pages on the other forum. Will hopefully get some feedback on shift light settings tomorrow.......

this was sum of the fun i had with the yank spreadsheet as the software on the US GTO clusters is different to ours. i got 98% of the way there before i had to put things down due to work commitments and holidays, plus the fact i have stuffed a test cluster which i need to fix and work out how i stuffed it before i touch anyone's car..

Right i have some good news.. so goo infact it requires a post of its own.

i have been doing some web huting and with my abality to google almost anything and some clever hunting and a web time machine (yes you heard right) i have found the follwoing.

the cluster in all VY / VZ cars (ours) was not actually made by holden it was made by a 3rd party company called AAPL (Australian Arrow Pty. Ltd) in fact apparently they did all the HAVAC system as well.

after some more fact finding missions i discovered that they wrote a bit of software to program all the settings in these clusters. according to the company it does not exist tho

scratchchin

so after some more hunting i found some screen shots of this application that does not exist. but trying to track down its name was a bh. but after some more hunting i found its name thumbup

so i went hunting and every where i looked all references to this program had been removed frown but them i struck gold and found a Aussie forum that had a removed link curse but then i remembered the web page time machine and went back in time and got a copy of the new removed link wink

so in my procession i now have a copy of the "official" although none existent software to program all monaro clusters. i have found a warning say some features will not work on a VZ (05) dash but we shall have to be careful and see. apparently this app can read and program the cluster while it is in the car. smile

also i have read up that we can adjust the known bug of the service error messages coming up at the wrong mileage.

so all i need now is a cable and a spare cluster to have a look it..

im sure they will be requests for this software but i shall keep it close to my chest for now until i have managed to fire it up and see how dangerous it really is.
hey mate do u have link to down load program at all plz thanks

the offical program does not actually work correctly. It turns out that the version kicking around the net is an unfinished version hence a large number of the sections do not work correctly. I have a dead cluster sitting on the side here to prove that.

If you want to learn how to mod the cluster all the info is on the ls1gto pages.
http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4931...

the easiest option could be to use this software that one of the guys on LS1GTO made. but i see your over in Oz so i think it might thow up an error for you.

if you would like stepping though things drop me a PM and ill see if i can help you out but warning i edit all my code manually but its real simple once you get your head around it.

i can hook you up with a link to the unfinished one but there is no guarantees it will work in fact i have a cluster sitting here that can no longer go back into the car as the unfinished project killed it by just doing a logo change and gear lights. and in a nice way i would not be responsible for it doing that to yours.

i assume you have a ADal cable even before we got down a software route, not this is a different cable to the odb cables you get as standard to read fault codes.

if you do have a cable i tell you step by step how to set it up via OSE and what to read out and send back, even happy to edit the send back string for you.

it is much much safer using OSE over the unfinished product.

i don't mean to sound rude but if you are not very good with all things computer doing this might not be a wise idea as for what ever method you use you need to know how to setup the com port on the laptop / software correctly.
i would not hold u responsible for it I have a bout 10 cluster man to play with I just carnt find the link
