I blame that on your teachers. Education standard haven't been the same since the left wing 'non-competitive' attitude was adopted. What's the point of teaching kids that everyone's a winner (as Errol Brown sang), when life itself is a competition?

Now back to your spelling, and if you don't get your next post right, it'll be a ruler across your knuckles. wink

Mark's right on both fronts Stig. I walked away from an extremely well paid job 18 months ago to set up a company with our life savings. Lost over £65k before it started to go the right way.

I moved in at the weekend and there's still a hell of a lot of sorting out to do. Mrs S is tearing her hair out. smash

would be good to hear your story, I'm fed up of working for and making money for the man but haven't got a clue what I would do once jumping ship. Losing 65k? Blimey but then the rewards are worth the risks. I'm in a saturated market place though and no business acumen. All I have is 60k burning a hole and I figure that's a good starting place to give something a go whilst not risking my house or other investments (Im not brave enough to risk it all!)

Chuck 15k each into 4 buy to let properties on interest only mortgages, hope you get (decent) tenants in there quickly, their rent covers the mortgage, you offset the rent income against the mortgage interest so avoid that bit being taxed at least, hopefully when base rates rise you don't get shafted, if and when property prices go up (over time they tend to of course) you can either keep bringing in the rental income, or sell the properties on and make some extra money.

Alternatively, buy a Diablo. They haven't appreciated yet, and are the last Lamborghini before Audi got involved, and all the others have skyrocketed thumbup
