Nice work. Bugger about that Katech timing chain tensioner. Not cheap either. Mind you, what yank stuff is?

My chinese 92mm $100 TB turned up. Not bad for the money. Machining of the billet not as good as it could be but internally it looks good.

i think my throttle body is a cheap chinese throttle body. It doesnt feel very smooth so i might see if i can strip and improve it

But with regards to the timing guide, its a bit of a pain but the bonus is that an ls2 guide is a alot cheaper smile

Should be okay as I wont need an adapter but will keep an eye on it.

Cheers stick smile

If you paint the block red / orange, I'll be very jealous indeed. Don't let that delay the build though!

but it looks like my Katech/GM timing chain guide does not fit. I am making the assumption that i have a later ls1 block as the hole centres for the block match up to an ls2 timing chain guide. I know Kmud fitted an adapter to his LS1 to fit an ls2 timing guide, so the blocks seem to differ between the same year of manufacture

...
Bugger, don't know how the hell that happened! I assume mine was LS1 damper fitment but would need to double-check with stick.

Internally perfect but I think they have pushed the milling cutter too hard or used a blunt one externally. It will as you say, polish up though.

I'll be doing a bit to my LS1 so I might have that off you at some stage, unless mines the same as yours.

Good idea. Ally blocks look crap when oxidised/salted.

I looking into putting the welder on hold and buying a set of forged pistons and rods and make the bottom end strong.

I can easily upgrade the top end at a later date

What are stock rods good for as never heard of one breaking, just the pistons seem to fail... Be interested as when mine goes back in I am looking at just pistons as the powers never going over 560atw.

Plenty enough, i think is the answer. For what you are doing Rog, they will be fine. As for G, im not quite sure i know what the power will end up as, but then im not sure he does either biggrin

My aim is around 725-750hp with meth which should be the blower maxed out but im aiming for revs and want to rev to 7100-7200 for high speed runs. So forged rods for piece of mind.

Knowing me I will probably change my mind half way through

I would like to experiment with E85 and maybe the effects of adding nitrous to forced induction at a much later date

My V2 ran out at 680 ish , check bearing sizes in the blower gearbox as well to see what you can spin it to there are 2 different sizes
