Gsd2000 what you doing about traction.especialy with all that power
For the drag strip I plan to switch to 15" drag radials with skinnies up front

On the street for now I will use decent road tyres with the long term plan to mini tub and roll the arches to fit some 10" wide wheels with 285-295 tyres

Block is booked in for machining

Internals are ordered

So i thought that i should post an update

I decided to wrap my manifolds using DEI titanium wrap

Before

During

After

I had a knock on the front door and all this arrived

Inspecting the Callies Compstar rods

Ive also made a start on the base tune and should have that ready very soon

The plan is to drop the block off on Tuesday and i should if i keep pushing and chipping away have the car on the road for the V8UK Power Tour which is around the 24th May

That piston is pure art cool

Those manifolds look the same as mine smile how much wrap did you need to do them ?
i believe i ordered a 100ft roll.

That was just enough but my manifolds have 1 5/8th primaries so if you have bigger primaries i would order more

I've got some tools that you might find useful if you want a borrow. Push-rod length checker, valve-spring tool (the heads installed kind), and a thing for aligning the timing cover...all unused since stick did the dirty for me.
timing cover tool would be handy, i have the others biggrin

i collect the block on the 2nd May for reassembly, and at the same time hopefully drop off my rotating assembly because a few bearings were missed from my order

I thought that i'd update this

I collected the rotating assembly.

I had the block bored, honed, crank polished, keyway added to the crankshaft, heads skimmed, rotating assembly balanced

Now mounted on the stand, just finishing the prep for paint

If everything goes to plan, the engine should be built by early afternoon on Friday
