They are legal on our cars, even with 7 letters/numbers (using the smaller motorcycle font). Measure the recess, and get one made up slightly shorter. With 5 digits you will still easily comply with the law on full sized letters/numbers.
Ians right. reduced mine down to recess size last week after ACE Café Meet, and yes with 5 digits you can keep letters/no.s normal size and legally spaced

i loved that car, it feels different to the one I've got now, it was better. Going to Walkinshaw on wed for work on my current one, I'm going to ask if they worked on the old one, see what was done to it, I'm sure the gear box was re-mapped.

shout OP we need nice shiny uncrashed pics as this thread is starting to look like a morgue for VXR8's...!
Don't mention the words Morgue and VXR8 in the same sentence, the owners get very worried hehe

What was it you liked about the old car so much, isn't your new car a LS3 ?

the older one was snappier, felt sharper, but my LS3 has just come back from Walkinshaw and had a couple of re-maps, on the gear box and engine, and feels similar again. I had no evidence of mods on the old car, but it definitely had something done to it in the past.
