Maybe my physics is shot but would not having it smaller force the clutch out faster.
Size of the line will make no difference ( provided it isnt too small...see next )

However, some OEM setups have a small restrictor near the master to slow fluid movement down on rapid foot movement. Sort of to prevent people violently dumping the clutch. I think some BMW's do the same

However it can cause the clutch to slip more instead, and slow down shifts a little.

Although not sure if the yank cars have that weird and really long steel line to the slave cylinder ?

As for the master. As long as the actuating rod acts straight and not an an angle, it should give a long service life.

On the Camaro and Vette it does not though. It has -4, although it's also the one they claim with the restrictor at the master where the -4 line fits in

I also have a problem with clutch pedal travel (CV8), even after fitting a brand new LS7 clutch and new slave cylinder. Seems to need to be on the floor to get a gear change.

I know what Emma's saying; the extra travel slows up the gear changes.

Did vaguely recall Roger saying that the earlier GTS's have the adjustable ones fitted??? (Must have a look)
That should adjust itself back to normal after a while Gareth. You can adjust them when installing but you ideally need one of those clutch compression tools. A couple of hundred miles should see the pedalback to normal.

Yes, the early cars have an adjustable lenghth master pushrod

Thought you had said that. Thanks. (That could be the one Tick performance are selling???)

FYI for all, the GTO kit does not fit the Monaro.
After a few hours of trying its a no go.

The cylinder itself is too big to fit the bulkhead, so it comes with an adapter plate.... which doesn't fit.
Firewall placement is likely different on the left-hand drive GTO.

Gurmeet, which tilton replacement cylinder did you end up with?

i will get some photos and part numbers today.

Mine isnt a tick version but one that someone copied and i also had to modify the adapter to get the thing to fit

When you say 'modify'? What did you do to make it fit. To me looks like it would need a lot of machining.
The bulkhead is not flat for it to sit against.
The mounting thread fouls the brake booster
The positioning of the master cylinder also looked too tight against the cylinder head for the fluid inlet.

May try again at a later date if I have the patience.

i know i had to hand file the adapter so that it sits flush on the bulkhead, i think i had some more holes added but cant remember.

Mine wasnt a tick unit but from someone similar, but its just an off the shelf tilton with an adapter, nothing special
