Heres a question...what speed should a R8 with cat back and filter reach ? I've still got the 155 limiter on so will I not get that fast in the mile or will I spend the last few yards popping off the limiter ??

laugh
That's pretty much the same setup I had a few years ago at Cottesmore. Think I got 140s before running out of runway. The speed limiter isn't going to get in your way.

First year that I went to Thunder Road I had a completely stock ls3 auto and went 149 m.p.h.

That makes me feel better, as I just managed to break 150 with a completely stock manual, last year. smile

Although, now Paul is a shadow of his former self...................... tank

Perhaps he'll dispel the myth that yellow is only fastest when it's running away hehe

151.95 last year. LS3 with Walkinshaw cat back only and nearly a full tank of fuel.

Now have VCM intake so hoping for a bit more.

Good man. cool

If Stick gets his finished as well then the three of you (with Leatherman) can give James some much needed support in the NA camp. smile

As you've suspected, on a good run, you'll be close to the limiter in 5th at the end, which is just about 155. With virtually no modifications, you'll be doing well to get to that, so I wouldn't bother changing anything for this one. If you had Mo Farah sorry, more power, then you might want to think about getting the rev limiter lifted, though personally if that were the case, I'd run oversized rear tyres there, so the car would still think it was below the limiter.

This is theoretical though. I've not managed to reach the limiter. You might want to wait for answers from those who have done it in practice.
Raising the rev limiter would only be of help if you're still making power at the top end - and that will probably only happen if you're running a Cam.
Oversized tyres are best avoided if you're lowered. Ask me how I know biggrin

...and as for the Rev limiter in 5th:
