So is there any chance we could (if anyone is willing to give such info) compile a list of competitors from last year and their trap speeds and what their mods were during those runs??? Would be good to see the benchmarks and then your predictions for this year along with the upgrades completed since last year. I love seeing all the true data as opposed to dyno sheets and TR is completely new to me. we used to do a lot of this stuff at the drags and it made for interesting reading.

Something like this:

Forum Name:
2013 Mods:
2013 TR mph:
New Upgrades:
Predicted 2014 TR mph:

I have no idea what my Monaro will run in truth; all I can give is a trap speed at the drags back in 2005 which was in full weight trim driven to the track in pretty unfavourable conditions where it pulled over 112mph. In 2006 I got my ute (LBT) and concentrated on that and allowed the Monaro to sit and look pretty.

I'm hoping we can get to 160mph, but who knows!!!! All I know is a good launch off the line will definitely help in TR to squeeze out the last few mph.

Cheers

I can't find the table - though it is around here somewhere.

Slowest was just touching 150mpg, then there was a cluster below 155, before the serious competitors.

Sorry - should add it would be good to know what engine you are running and if it is a Monaro or VE or whatever.

Cheers

What is stock gearing over here then??? In Oz it was either 3.07 or 3.46

3.46

I still have the standard diff but the gearbox was built with CV8 ratios in 1st 4th and a lower ratio 5th and 6th. Pulls quite strongly in all gears now hehe

a 3.71 diff would be the optimum

based on its not as short as a 3.9 set and its not as tall as a 3.4 set (also HSV would appear to agree!). Would have thought switching the rear gears would have been an easier option

It's only a 3.7 in the '04 VXR.
