Mine only does 12.5 quarters so I wouldn't see which way you went off the line but my TS is 137 so whilst slower time wise I'm actually going faster. That's what you were seeing at TR with the big FI builds.
How much real bhp is yours putting out???

And as we said I'm only looking for 180 mph which again I say I think is doable. But I have not said it will do more than that.

Regarding your speed at the 1/4, I wonder if I would be far enough ahead to stay ahead for the 1 mile???? I reckon it would be close if I was already at least 1.5 seconds faster to the 1/4 - now there's a real grudge match. I had it with the Street Tuna Twin turbos at the LS1 Nationals - I was faster out of the hole, he slowly gained on top end but couldn't catch me at all at the 1/4. So much so he pretty much parked it for the rest of the competition as I was supposedly the FI/Boost prey. I was only ever beaten by one other 5.7 LS1 in all my time racing - and that was the infamous Markone2 with his SV8 who taught me to race.

I'm pretty sure you're Monaros running a lot more than 400 too based on your position in the rankings.
Good luck though, like I said, I'd like to see it but the miles a whole new game over the quarter.
I totally agree it's a different kettle of fish, but I've done a bit of homework on a 1 mile run from standing start.

The Monaro is putting out a genuine 264 rwkw = 350 bhp at the wheels. That was what was on the dyno sheet from back in 2005 and she's never been on a dyno since. Again I think hard, but decent, launches for NA cars are crucial as it gives it chance to get up to speed.

If time permits we'll do the transplant. If not maybe Dougie could make an exception that I trailer it up there as that would be a lot simpler although aeros might affect it a bit.
The Astra was trailered up. You must have an MOT if you do though.

That's a very interesting question.
My only real experience is of the First TR when the event was open to all marques a guy turned up with a 997 GT2 (having since got to know him well it was running 685hp fly that day)
He just disappeared off the line but I still crossed first and in the 190s to his mid 180s.
I'm pretty sure he's in the 10s as mine will do mid 11s with nowhere near the power.

Similar can be seen in this (taken from FB76 car) where we were very close at the line, but he was over 6mph faster.

The ute has 4.11's in it - perhaps that might help......... and you're working on 100% transfer of RPM to velocity figures that will not happen via a stall converter in an auto in my setup. She'll make 0.5 past light speed.... oh sorry wrong saying. No seriously I think she'd do it. The difference in power and performance between LBT (the ute's nickname) and the Monaro is staggering I can assure you.

I think I've shared this picture before but you can see how lively she is in race mode with 1.41 60' times!!

Yup - Mark and I are old buddies. In fact a guy called Shane Alex built the motor, and he was the head engine builder there at the time. He now has his own shop but it is in sunny Queensland!!!

A fair bit of stuff including 2" DF headers, BIG cam, RHS heads and a couple of other bits.

Here's a snapshot of a 10.8 run in the ute back in 2008 - note the revs ;-) and the nice square trace for % Throttle!!!! laugh

Also at the 1/4 I'd be at somewhere near 125 mph assuming a good launch, which is key to VMax for NA engines, so I'd have a bit of distance to pick up the remaining mph.

And even with this she was a pussy cat on the street thanks to the tune. A thirsty pussy admittedly!!!!

Very nice Leatherman.Do the 2" DF Headers fit ok without knocking on anything.
