VXR8 exhaust rattle.....

Got my R8 last summer, and ever since I got it, it's had this real annoying metallic rattle - particularly first thing when the engine is cold. At first I thought it was a loose heat shield or something but when I took it to AAS for a service they seemed to think it was coming internally from the exhaust, but when I had my Walkinshaw catback fitted the noise didn't go away. So does that mean it could be coming from the cats? Anyone had headers and cats from AAS that have mated upto a Walky catback, and if so what is the ballpark price. Cheers.

two things,

A tiny tiny exhaust leak will give a similar ticking sound from cold and go away once warm as the exhaust expands and seals . I have this issue on my Walky.

The other issue is my Walky was extremely close to the cross bracket and again touched when cold but stopped when warm. I just spaced the bracket down with 2mm washers.

I had heaers and sports cats fitted to both a Monaro and cv8 was circa £1250 if I remember correctly best to give Stuart a call

I have an occasional rattle on mine. I have WP bimodal and when fitted the WP guys reckoned it was a heat shield fixing above one of the back boxes that had slightly corroded allowing the shield to vibrate. Sounds just like a loose baffle. Happens randomly.
