Hey, just tried to get my airbag light turned off and its showing up the following fault code. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction on where to look for the cause. The guy cleared the code and it was ok for about 2 hours then came back on.

Try disconnecting the yellow squib that is connected to the driver's pre tensioner. Reset the the fault and see if a different code comes up with the squib disconnected. This may help to identify if its the pretensioner itself or the wiring to it.

Unfortuantely i don't have a code reader myself to be able to do that, would have to go and get it read again frown

Where is the connector you're talking about? What and where is the pre-tensioner? I've just had the full dashboard out to replace the heater matrix (fault light was on before that) so familiar with the parts now, just don't necessarily know the right names for the bits! Is this the seat belt pre-tensioner?

Yes, it means the seatbelt pretensioner for the driver. It is located at the base of the drivers side b-pillar underneath the large plastic trim. The wiring for it (and any active safety devices like airbags) is yellow.

Cool, cheers for that. I'll go and investigate and check the wiring, hopefully its just a bad connection given the fault stayed off for a wee while. I take it a fault on the pre-tensioner will trigger the airbag light then?

I have just checked the monaro handbook and on page 51 it says 'the front seat belt buckles are pulled downwards'. This means the pretensioner is under the seat and attached to the buckle itself. You will have to raise the seat fully and get in there to see under the seat. It will be tricky to see.

Sorry, I assumed the monaro had reel mounted pretensioners as they are more common.

Yep, airbags and belt tensioner faults will both throw up airbag light faults.

I'd be surprised if that will clear an airbag light, think that requires a tech2.
