When i first had my charger on the road, it did 8 mpg. Though it does 15 now, but i did throw the holley away to achieve it!
I'm pretty sure it could do with a tune up as it does smell a bit rich. This has a Holley!?I've gotta say I'm quite suprised at the fuel consumption. Luckily it's a sunny day car...

sounds a bit like my Ranchero Ute, I just keep topping the fuel after a few trips out and put £15/£20 in it, then the fuel cons doesn't seem so bad, but think its doing about 14/15 mpg.

Haha, judging by that pic, you really do hate Fd's don't you JB? cant wait to see it Jamie

I need to find somewhere to take the car to make sure the carbs are setup correctly I think. This might help with the 'petrol smell' issue and maybe even the mpg, or that could just be how it is/was 40 odd years ago?

Got a new 'Green' policy for the government to consider.
As it takes so much energy to make a new car, petrol should be sold to owners at the price it was, when their car was produced.
For the record, in 1969, petrol was six bob and sixpence for a gallon Gruffy.
Was that when you were in the Famous Five ARAF? As it takes so much energy to make a new car, petrol should be sold to owners at the price it was, when their car was produced.

How come we buy fuel in litres but work mileage out (when we dare) in Gallons?
When fuel got close to £2 a gallon the retailers switched to advertising it cheaper by showing litres. Marketing bks.I just fill up and abuse the road since road tax has increased so much!

I think there's a lot about that car that a lot of us don't know much about.
Cheers Vince Yeah Ian, I don't really understand the spec. I'm trying to find out if it's a drag setup or whether it's just been made to 'look' like that.
If it is capable of power, then it must be up in the higher rev range as the auto box seems to keep the gearing low. Lots of torque but no real umff... It's hard to explain.
It must have extreme drag radials and a stall converter for a reason having read up about them and what they're for... Launching dragsters!!!
If any knowledgable person knows, please educate me. I'm still not sure what the I've bought!? Haha
It was a horrible feeling doing a deal on a car that you know nothing about. It was a massive gamble, but at least it looks nice if nothing else...
