No it doesnt, engine RPM is much higher for a set speed, so while you can drive off "ok", its not what you would define "normal" IMO biggrin
Well my car has a 3 grand stall it. It creeps forward with no brake at idle just like a normal auto and you can drive off normal and you wouldn't know it has a stall. Could depend on who built the convertor but you don't need to travel everywhere with it revving its head off. Unfortunately with 3:55 gears and 1:1 final drive rpm is going to be higher for any given road speed compared to a manual with overdrive or leaving the standard taller diff gears in.

It's a common myth that the car wont move till it reaches the stall speed, not true at all. On light throttle openings it will move away normally, when you get heavier on the throttle it will jump up to the stall speed. I should try and make you a quick vid of me driving mine around and do a launch. One thing i would do is check that it has an external trans cooler fitted as higher stall speeds generate more heat. If you wanted lower rpms while cruising you could fit an overdrive to the c6 from here http://www.gearvendors.com/ but they are very pricey.
Yep. And there are myths around temps on high stalls too. I run a 4200 CircleD and checked/logged the trans temps in all situations (no towing though) including up the 1/4 at the Pod.

Running through the stock trans cooler (fluid to fluid) it didn't get anywhere near dangerous temperatures. Some of these myths are started by interested parties!

I wouldn't buy the overdrive either, just have a play with the lockup thresholds in the trans map.

no lock up convertor on a c6 and even if you could with 3:55 diff gears and 3 speeds your still going to have high rpm's at a 70 mph cruise.
