Auto Box Reset VXR8
Discussion
Now that the camaro has a new home and the 4 speed auto gone. I think Ill look to a 6 speed at some point.
There are some new interesting developments with engine torque management tables which communicate with the t43 controller.
So I will aim to get my head around them.
In theory as per the ECU if the base tune is good you should not notice much change by resetting any adaptive changes. Otherwise clearly the base tune is wrong and the adaptive adjustments try and "fix" it..
Pity the new 8l90e isnt going to be available until later this year and only in the Corvette..

Yup, makes sense. It will be interesting to see if mine starts to slip back to bad habits.................There are some new interesting developments with engine torque management tables which communicate with the t43 controller.

I am going to try this reset tomorrow, as my up changes are truely astonishingly slow.
My mate's just bought a Nissan 200 or summat along those lines, with a big turbo.... He says it makes 350hp.
He took me out in it. Each gear change was like being hit in the back with a sledge hammer. I know that's a manual box, but the vxr8 is just pathetic in comparison. It takes an age to change with the lever, so much so tou sometimes end up tapping it twice because you think it hasn't done anything.
Any other ways of speeding up the changes?

Well all I can say is wow!
Gear changes are (sometimes) instantaneous, other times slightly delayed but overall a lot faster. A LOT faster.
Now just need some more power!
That's good to hear John. Like I mentioned in my posts above I'm surprised there isn't more info on the web about it.Gear changes are (sometimes) instantaneous, other times slightly delayed but overall a lot faster. A LOT faster.

I have a Toyota FJ Cruiser now and did a fuse out reset on that and it now changes gear silky smooth! So most modern autos should have that capability.
