Hi Gent/Gal's

I recently gutted a spare set of stock cats (thanks again JohnM) and found I suffered with EML coming on saying cat threshold exceeded laugh

I Have used O2 sensor spacers in the past with good results so decided to try the same on the R8. £20 delivered later for a pair of 304 stainless spacers and no more EML. The true test was today driving to BHP show which included a few blats, a couple of 11's and 2 hours of crawling traffic furious

Search on 'the bay' for O2 spacer if you are decatted and have EML issues, the ones i got are fomr profusion wink

And decided to fix the usual cracked bracket on pasenger manifold. Seems fairly common to snap off there and make a slight ticking noise (not loud at all).

Hope that helps others and saves them speding £££'s of Emulators and remaps etc when not always needed.

Cheers
Elton

Yup, I'm happy. I've used them with great success in the past but that's not too say the R8 would be happy with them laugh

Mate it was dire !! I done it around 5 years ago and que'd on the A2 for nearly 3 hours that time. So today I take a mate and my two little un's in and decide we would go at lunch time, surely the mad rush would be over by then..nope ! 2h15 on the A2 again and that's me done for good never never again mad

I was in a Blue R8 and parked just along from a red R8 V111 VXR I think ?

Ps due an MOT in July wink

VIII VXR is on here, and lives in Ashford. I didn't make it across to Lydden today. I ended up spending all day cleaning the interior of the Escort. It certainly looks more presentable now.

Glad you've sorted out the CEL. smile

I've been to that show since it started but couldn't make it this time as I was in Germany, think I made the right choice but I'm normally on a stand in the show and get there at silly o'clock without any problems, Lydden is a joke with these big shows as it only has a single lane entrance & exit, they need to invest some ££££'s to sort it

They may have another issue now! spoke to a friend who's sister works for the local council & apparently they didn't have the proper planning in place with the council or the police so they could be in a lot of trouble!!

well just too update that over a 1000 miles later including trip to France and I've not had the EML on ever again.

Quick, easy and cheap remedy for people running decats.

cool

Looks like a lot of messing about for something that is "fixed" with a couple of mouse clicks in the ECU software.

How much is the software, probably just a 'little' more than the 20 fix above I'm guessing. I cant see how unscrewing a sensor and screwing in a spacer is a lot of messing about...took me 20 minutes to do on the drive with basic tools confused

Yes EFI live and HP tuners have their uses...but not if all you want to do is turn off a CEL due to decats.

I ordered a pair too, could have made them at work but for £20 not worth the hassle, if you had lived more local Ringram I would have popped around, perhaps when near you can disable for me biggrin

Could we disconnect them and turn on see if an alarm shows on screen?
