Not a great start to the day, managed to put a scratch down my car from the tip of the front wing right down to the end of the back wing to the light. Caught an overhanging branch on a corner going through some country lanes eek

Hopefully it will polish out but I'm so annoyed about it! furious
See how you get on but dan (who you met at my workshop) is really good at getting scratches out

Run you finger nail over the scratch, if you can't feel it and it's just the clear coat, it might just polish out.

If it doesn't and youve got a pair of balls, get some 2000 grit sandpaper and wet sand it very very gently, then polish with the DA.

A mate let me practice on his taxi as it needs a front end respray anyway, you'll be amazed at how easy it is !!

Oh ye's of little faith ! smile

If you stay away from edges, you can, with 2000 grit, give the clear coat quite a bit of welly.

He did actually let me burn through the paint to show just how much abuse you have to give it before burn through.

He's a very good painter and I very much appreciated his time to show me what to do and not to do, I'm much more confident now getting scratches out wink

For the cost of a panel, I would def recommend anyone giving it a go thumbup

Well the r8 got a tug from old bill tonight for apparently speeding
They loved the car asked about it then let me on my way
Thoroughly lovely chaps
Gotta love the R8

Quite. They wouldn't feel the need to take pity.

I bet it was like when a parent gets a painting from their 4 year old and they go "oh this is so good we need to save this and put it in the box in the loft"
