You can make it as public, or private as you like. If you have a private group on there, then only the group members can see. Not even your other friends can see what you write. In some ways, that's better than here.

Unfortunately a forum is not the sum of it's parts and can be judged by the few bad apples past and present, then when 'regulation' ensues everyone gets treated like little children and the bad apples ruin it for everyone.

Of course you can. You can make it so that only friends of friends can find you - or what I did at the start was used a different name. What chance has anyone of finding you if they don't know what name to look for?

I may consider it IF it can be set so that it's by invitation by me to be someones pretend friend and so nobody can find me unless I want them to; then it might work for me, but that's not the FB Virus will take over the world now is it.

I've found a few people on Facebook, but don't use it all that much. No idea what the private groups are, and find this a far easier forum to chat on, especially when
using the work PC where having an open PH page is far easier to use than having a 'frowned upon' Facebook page. Yes, technically I shouldn't be using either in work time, but with the amount of 'free' overtime I do for them, any comment is met with a shrug and 'I'll just work my Contracted hours then shall I?'
