BBQ at 2:30 am - Just keeps on rolling

You know 007 is on holiday when the bbq drops off page 1!
Anyway, last night I flashed my first tune to the GTS. Just a small tweak to timing to try and eliminate some knock retard that I logged at Thunder Road. At one point I saw 4.7degrees of timing pulled! Really need to get my wideband fitted so that I can get on with tuning it properly.

There's a lot on the EFI Live forums about knock and the different PIDs and what they mean. From memory there are a few, I think a measured knock and how much timing was pulled, then a predicted knock and how much timing to pull, then a combined figure of both of those or some such. It's worth looking in to anyway. Also don't forget that the amount of timing pulled can vary with temperature and other things too, there'll be tables for all that as well of course
Have fun either way
Yup plenty to learn. I did think about burst knock, but it seemed to always happen in about 6 cells, so have dropped them back a couple of degrees then smoothed them in, just need to get out and log again to see if there is any difference between the two maps under the same load conditions.

This mapping lark sounds like it could be quite addictive..!PS. Where are you planning to do your 4th gear pulls?
