i saw that on the you tube live feed
The only thing I was truly p***ed off about the whole weekend was that very supercar shoot out. I've waited all year to see a Macca P1 and the new Porsche 918, so when I heard they would be setting times on the hill in the supercar shoot out, I was mighty chuffed. So the first lot went up, the Audi R8 was pedestrian, not trying, a few other, a Lexus LSF set the benchmark time, the Noble was scary as anything but set an awesome time quicker still, just to be immediately bested by a Datsun GTR Time Attack (which was really pushing the 'production trim road car' category somewhat. Then Sir Chris Hoy got in one of two Datsun GTR Nismo's and promptly took a massive disliking to an awful lot of hay bales - it was carnage. Took them nearly half an hour to sort it out, which just made the wait for the P1 and P.918 even more antagonising. Still, the re-start, here they come!!WTF!?!? They were both doing the hill in electric only mode. I'm sorry, but I did not come to see the P1 and 918 for the first time, to see them ghost up the hill quieter than a silent guff. It was so disappointing and a total anti-climax. No-one did beat the Datsun on that run in the end, but I'm sure had the P1 and 918 been using everything, it would have made a better fight of it.
There was then a whole series of accidents late on and they suspended the hill climb for the rest of the day (it was getting late anyway, so not a biggie).
