You can get most drag or drag radial style tyres in 245 or 255 sizes, although they tend to be tall. 225 is another fairly common size.
But then you also need wheel rim to suit. I had 255/40x17's 888's on my car for a while but on an 8" rim they really were too wide for it
Ive since moved back to 235/45x17 all round. Tyre sits much nicer and more square on the rim now
The outer 15mm or so on each side of the 255 was barely touching the ground most of the time anyway
For drag use I use 255/50x16 or years ago used Nitto 245/50x16, they worked no problem because of the softer taller sidewalls.
Any cold air you can get the better, but I'd doubt the difficult starting is due to hot air. That sort of thing really isnt an issue with fuel injected cars.
If using an aftermarket ecu, it can just sometimes take time to get the startup setting right for a quick start.
