Zircotec coated headers.
Discussion
As previously stated, I am likely to do the same (chiller and ceramic coated headers) depending on how yours turns out. It would be good if Roger can do a before and after comparison as it will be nice and warm in August and it would be good to see the effects on under bonnet and intake temps.

I will ask Roger to do this it makes a MONSTER difference...
[quote] I was considering getting my intake system Zircotec coated as the Zircotec on the headers works really well. I can touch my headers without burning my hand straight after a full on drag pull where coolant temps have got into the high 90's.

That's is on a 9 sec Drag car running 1000+ bhp and 1000+ftlbs . The GTO gets mental hot even in the mildest form of tune, people at the Kingsley meet will tell you how much heat was radiating out my engine bay after an hour and that's at literally half the power of Andre's car.
Its also come down massively in price over the last 5 years, There was a stage where it was only affordable to the rather wealthy at CIRCA £800 for a manifold . I believe Andre spent around that for two manifolds, two turbo hot sides , two down pipes and both dump pipes.

Where are you getting yours done?
I'd like a quote for coating my turbos and headers....
Group buy?
at zorcotec not far from the fish I'd like a quote for coating my turbos and headers....
Group buy?
I believe this is the place - they are in Oxford and conveniently close to Walkinshaws

Nice little video here (produced by Zircotec) showing headers before and after where they claim the surface temperatures before coating exceeded 700C but dropped to around 400C after coating:

My manifold on the focus is coated & is still in good condition after 5+ years it makes a huge difference & as has already been said i can touch my manifold within 10-15 mins after a run, comparing this to my brothers car which has a uncoated manifold he has had to fit a heatshield as the heat was damaging the paint on the bonnet.
