Falling out of love?

Hi everyone,
The car is back up and running for some time now, but I have got a feeling I am falling out of love with the thing...
Loving RR Sport S/C and the XFR. Two totally different cars and so different to the VXR8.
I guess the only thing I would miss is the "I have never seen a car like this" factor...
Has anyone of had any experience of those two cars? Any feedback? Undisputedly, they will be more luxurious and refined, but would they suffer from such headaches that the R8 does?
Any opinions welcome.

Owned a jag for 4 years. XJ8 best car Id had owned and better build than a holden for sure.
BUT while it did everything well. It didn't have an LSD rather some crap open diff with torque braking which just meant nothing worked in mud or snow etc.
Also no interior room, they are only built for small children or the british.
The worse aspect was lack of mods and tuning ability.
I had been Holden since a 1980 VB SS 4 Speed Manual Commodore so had to return to the fold.
Boring women and children cars suck

Let's face it, it was a difficult time doing everything by myself, failing to complete the mods and I guess the four month waiting period added as a factor. Then the misfortune of scratching and... I don't know. It seems there is always something and I am not sure whether it's the "growing up" thing, or something else, but I am tired thinking of another thing that might go wrong one day. I just want to get in the car and drive and feel the power and the sensation. And right now where I am, I am feeling a little bit numb to it's Xfactor.
Saw a nice RRS S/C with Overfinch package. Saw an XFR that looked just as good. The former would be a great statement car (not that this is what I am purely after - I am poor in the end of the day!) and the latter, a proper fun tool, but also one that could do as a luxurious daily.
And I guess the fact that VXR8s are selling at higher than average prices at the moment, it makes things very very tempting to change up.
I guess things I will be missing are:
- "what is that car, never seen anything like it"
- the ease of replacing things (especially engines and diffs)
- the parts cost (which let's face it, will be higher on the main contenders)
- rarity
- all the hard work and effort I have put into it over the last three years making it "mine"
- the soul
- and last but not least, the fact that a car like this gets well under your skin and stays there as it becomes a chunk of your personality (although I am not sure that one would understand what I mean by that)

A RRS whilst I can see the appeal there's no way I could swap my Monaro for one. I could see myself owning a RRS in addition to but not as a replacement for the 'Ro.
The jag has potential but anybody can go buy one and without driving one I can't comment on if they have soul or make the driver feel special.
All in all I think you're making a mistake if you sell up and replace with either of your chosen options.

The thing is, the car has been on the road for over a month and I have been driving it wherever I could. Ok, I have not been pushing it at all. I mean I am scared of getting anywhere near 4k revs even on very light and gentle throttle.
On the other hand, I have had my 2014 Toyota Hilux and as per it being a new car it just spoils you with the "new car" feeling. Don't get me wrong, it's still gutless even with a remap and I choose to drive the V8 any day of the week.
Perhaps, I will try to sell it for some stupid money and see if I change my mind meanwhile.
As for the cars I am looking at, if I could only afford I would easily be going for Ford F150 Raptor SVT. A bit of a happy medium between my pickup and the car.

There shouldnt be any problem with the new crate motor & you only broke the diff due to your own error so If I was you carry on with what you have & just show it some tlc

We have an XFR in the fleet and I use it from time to time. once you get in sports mode, lock in the stiffened response mode (forget what its called) and turn off the traction control - its pretty quick on the paddles and handles ok, but the false pop and bang on the overun doesn't impress, and Im still stuck on the R8 and its full Wortec sound!! nothing like it!! Also, you will find its much more difficult to pull out into traffic in a Jag than an R8! Its that rare car feel that I miss when drving the Jag.
I do agree most of the mishaps were due to my ill manners. But as they were rather major failures, subconsciousness starts kicking in and I simply stopped enjoying it to an extent.
I am fairly sure I would end up going back HSV. It's like a virus... I did the exact same thing after I had sold my first VXR8, i.e. bought another one less than a year later.
On the upper hand, drove it today with windows down and was absolutely loving it! And I know I will miss it if I decide to let it go.
As for other things, well it's always the gearbox that might ask to get changed. Anything else, I treat minor (I hope).
Overall, I am in two minds. I saw a couple of more Jags today (you can tell I am leaning towards this car over the RRS) and they are great looking thing. There is not much that makes them stand out. They look like a diesel version bar the rear pipe to someone unfamiliar with the model.
Range Rover... As Emma said probably more like a second car and if it fails to start, you jump into your usual and carry on.
As for the reliability and my ability to kill anything I drive, I was hoping the Jag would withstand that a little bit easier than my current car. Am I wrong in thinking that?

My Monaro is on its 4th engine after blowing up the first 3 and spend the best part of 4 years off the road! I was worried to drive the thing when I last got it back and certainly didn't want to rev it in case it broke. Slowly my confidence came back as it learned to trust it and now I think nothing of taking it past 6.5k rpm. My advice is keep it and enjoy it, it's not fragile but you need to learn mechanical sympathy.
Alternatively, get a Jap superbike and ride it flat out everywhere, no need to warm it up even and you will definitely break before it does!
