Well I never really fell out of love but DAMN I'm a happy man today coolcool!!! When I bought the R8 it had a fair few stone chips on the front end which I knew about, well before one meet I gave the car a good polish and wax which turned out too be my worst mistake ever ....all the white polish residue got stuck in every little chip (of which it turned out there were MILLIONS frown).

I just picked up the car tonight from a full front end refresh from the screen forwards including blending into both doors. I took a gamble on a mates bodyshop who gave me a very very good price, so good I was a nervous wreck until I saw her tonight again.

I stressed to the guys numerous times I am as fussy as they get and when it comes to cars I haave a good dose of OCD, They were under no illusion that I would be difficult too please.

Well I have too say I am amazed at the transformation of a front end spray job and full machine polish. Next up is an MOT at NWJ and then a service.biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

These are straight off the camera with no fancy filters, Just a good camera at the right time of the evening.

I can live with a few, or even a lot...but not with a bazzilion squillion laugh

My black GTO was fully resprayed 2 years ago a week before my wedding, and on the way home from the body shop a huge stone flicked up and whacked the front bumper chipping a piece of paint the size of a 5 pence. Later that week at my wedding a mate parked next too me and flung his door open by accident and creased my rear quarter right on the double skinned arch frown Its still there now as it needs a full quarter respray and blend in due to custom black pearl paint.

Lets hope the R8 fairs better eh biggrin

There is something about 'Emmas'. My wife is Emma and a total fruit loop too, Last time she borrowed one of my cars a tech from work was out on road test and saw the car flash passed. He frantically tried too chase it while phoning me to say my car had been stolen biglaugh A quick call to the wife and she sheepishly admitted borrowing my car for the day as hers needed fuel rolleyes

Looking very good. I've had a few cars front end sprayed and once it's done I felt so much happier as all cars get shot lasted on the front end which ruins the looks.
Mines gonna go in once we have done our euro tour (4k miles) at the end of Aug. pointless beforehand although I almost had it done so it looked good.

Cheers for the positive words guys cool

When I bought the car she had only 45k on the clock but plenty of stone chips and a few nasty parking dings. The car wasn't an abused model, just not one that had been pampered all it's life. Now the paint is sorted I have Mark coming round tomorrow to do the dents and she will be as good as a 7 year old car could be smile

Can't belive how nice the blue is in the sun after a good machine polish !!!

Cheers for sorting out the MOT Neil, sorry we had to change and move it so much but you went out of your way too accommodate the Mrs FB bringing it down cool

Cosmetically all I have left to do is caliper repaint and subtle tint on windows, then I will have achieved what I set out to do when I bought it. Mark worked his magic on 3 really nasty dings yesterday which made the world of difference now.
