Then stop adding it up. hehe

Truthfully, I don't know of any car with the same sort of performance, that wouldn't cost double that, for the work that you have had done.

People were very sympathetic when I blew up our VXR8 as the engine and gearbox plus fitting cost £7500. Our previous Porsche would have cost us just that for a gearbox, so I thought it was a good result (the engine would have been an aditional £10k. smile
What I'm saying, is if you put it in context, you'll find that these buses are a cheap way to petrolhedonism. smile

Out of interest what caused the engine and gearbox to blow up? Is there no option to rebuild original like with a porsche or just not worth it given prices of new parts?

Cottesmore runway. I think I bounced the engine at about 9500 revs, so don't go there. wink

Have ypu picked your car up yet, and are you coming to Woodbridge for the mile event?

Most of that cost would be the accident you had.

Wasn't that was about 5.5k
The rest is mods / repairs tyres etc
And it should be a bit higher as ive lost some invoices

Surely modifications are an investment not a cost?

My Monaro has mostly cost me in depreciation and loss of interest on capital, at least the later is not as high as it used to be.rolleyes

And until a worthy replacement comes along (such as a RHD V8 Mustang) it stays.

Moved it out of the garage on to the drive for some temporary work space, just thinking how beautiful it looks square side on. My leaf is so ugly.

Pretty unlucky I feel, I have had my Monaro from new (2006) now around 73k miles. I have had a cracked rad, a cracked power steering pipe,a couple of front spots, one set of brake pads, 4 sets of tires and that's about it.

Even with depreciation and insurance works out pretty economical motoring (obviously fuel excluded!).
