I have tried a search through old posts etc, and after looking at the images of the stick on badges is there a better option for changing the badge on the airbag?

Best option I have found so far is a second hand HSV VZ airbag which would work out at circa £185 landed.

This is my must hated Vauxhall badge... it keeps staring at me in a mocking pretend sort of way. It has to go.

this is my steering wheel, its not easy to get vauxhall badge out, ust a small flat head screw driver and pry it out, takes a bit of effort! then stick the new badge in. I got badges made for the whole car, I'll rake out where I got them and re-post.

Thanks mailer, I assume they're from domedbadge?

I'm really keen on the original matte badge, as per the images I think I would rather spend the extra and get original.

Don't spend £185! Jebus. I have one, just the HSV badge.

I don't have the normal steering wheel, so it's never going to go on that, and I have this slight feeling if I tried to integrate it into anything else, it would look tacky.

Send me a PM. I wasn't going to say anything, but I can't watch you spend £185 on a whole airbag unit!

Whereabouts are you based?

You can't buy the badge from Holden/HSV unfortunately, safety reasons with it being on the airbag assembly.

Having said that, very rarely they do come up on eBay, I bought one a few years a go on ebay.com.au and it was a pig to get the Vauxhall badge off from the airbag assembly for obvious reasons!

Cheers Stef, James (Sturdy) has very kindly offered one at a fair price that he had so looks like it is going to be ok after all - no more Vauxhall badging! Cheers, Dan

Its the only VX badge i still have, and the one on the key fob, I would have thought with 3D printing you could easily get some made up? group buy?

If you have the VXR8 flip key, you can buy the HSV key badge with ease on E-Bay OZ.

I managed to source a proper steering wheel badge years ago and fitted it no problems, however, I've never seen one since !

As for the door seal badges, if you go FI on a Monaro, Range Rover Super Sport SC kick plates fit a treat wink

I used domebadges and changed every badge on the car, including the 2 key fob's, changed the colurs to red and black to match the car. they are not as good as OEM but I think they look the part.

Just remember to remove the fuse for the horn before you start to pry the old badge out, and watch where that screwdriver goes...............bang!

Take it slowly and carefully and you will get it swapped out, and watch for flying plastic if the old badge suddenly gives way!

couldn't agree more! the badge is a real pain to get out, I used 2 small flat heads and worked them round, then new one will be even harder to get in!

As above. I spent plenty of time looking on eBay Oz with no luck. Very rare.

I eventually found one, but I had to buy the entire car that it was attached to hehe

There are genuine HSV key fob badges for sale on eBay Oz - these come up quite often and are good quality, certainly better than the domed badge stuff.

I've replaced mine with one. Not cheap, but worth it for the OEM look and to satisfy my OCD I think.

This is where I was coming from initially for replacing the whole airbag, I have seen general non sterring wheel HSV badges at some pretty silly money in Aus which actually made replacing the whole unit seem more affordable.

OEM just looks tidier for my compulsions also...

I think there is another member on here that has gone down the purchasing of the air-bag as a complete unit idea to get the OEM badge...

I gave serious consideration to doing the same myself around this time last year, but at the time I knew I'd be swapping the car for the E3 a few months later and that came with the HSV badge, so I didn't do it.
