Hi Everyone
Visit getting closer so here are some details.....
The visit is confirmed for Saturday 12th September, starts at 10:30 and lasts around 2.5 hours possibly a bit more if the weather/ aircraft movements allow us to take the cars round the front of the Vulcan for a photo shoot.
The cost is £10 a head payable on the day. I need to collect this at the start of the event so bring your notes with you. I think there is a souvenir stall that should be manned on the day by volunteers. All your money goes to the upkeep of the Vulcan, so money well spent.
The visit includes a guided tour of the whole aircraft including cockpit visits. They normally power up the APU and show you how the control surfaces work as well. You get to touch one of only two Vulcans that are still in taxiable condition.
Car parking is provided at the South Warwickshire Flying School postcode CV35 9EU where we will gather before we are collected for the visit. Wellesbourne Mountford airfield is easy to find 10 mins from M40 junction 15 down the A429. You can't miss the Vulcan she's the biggest airplane on the airfield.
