Brummie revved his pretty high didnt he ?

Was he hydraulic or solid ?

I agree it probably isnt fair test because the CR had a bigger profile. It would have been interesting to do a similar profile, just to see if the SR have better valvetrain stability which would have led to any gains, or if there really isnt any difference between the two
I have seen tests of HR to SR and guess what.. HR is virtually the same except perhaps 2 or 3 bhp which as a % was pretty much zero.
Mainly due to HR vs HT and spring technologies and better lifters etc. Virtually no difference now for street use.

What about the Harrop intake like stick has?
Back to back testing by Katech published on corvetteforum show the Fast to out perform the harrop.

Best intake is Carb style.

A better HR vs SR test http://www.dragzine.com/tech-stories/engine/dyno-s...

If they were same lift Id suggest there would be same power. So HR wins for maintenance reasons IMO.

Of course if you are running 1" of lift etc you dont have much choice and solid is the only option.

I seen that one, but it isnt an LS with it's little springs etc

That seems to be the LS's weak link, tiny valve springs. Although there are many great spring options these days.

TBH I told Stick he should have got a Fast way back when he was fighting with the Jenvey. But it does tame larger cams.

Yeah he is right.
Both made the same bhp too.
But fast with the longer runners had better low end torque.

Now look at the ls7 v fast.
Ls7 will win up to about 5000rpm

So what's best will depend..

I'm only a messenger too smile
