I do have the number, but she was a young girl I would guess 21 ish, think that was the day she learnt to look over her shoulder when pulling out, so will not send the video to her boss.

Whilst it's no defence, and I'd probably go nuts too...

The wing mirrors on Combo vans are really terrible for blind spots. Although it does look like she didnt even attempt to look.

Of course some are saying dont bother reporting it, blah blah.

The police would gladly hunt you down for doing a safe few mph over the limit on that same stretch of road.

Pull blindly into the path of other vehicles forcing avoiding action...I'd bet the police wouldnt give two fks.

Having worked with Clancy over the years they take this seriously, they even made a safe driving video which is shown to all members of staff at induction when joining the business.

http://www.healthandsafetyfilms.co.uk/safedrivingr...

She would of most certainly sat and watched it and also signed the company document to say she would abide by this, maybe she faked her signature.

Maybe next time she might not be so lucky.

is it 80% vans fault 20% yours?

Not condoning the van but just as you got to the rear you seemed to accelerate. Now I saw a truck, a car and a van merging in it and I'd have hung back expecting the van thats closing on the car to try some heroics

Of course though its easy to be an expert when watching it and the camera is bloody useful

Nah, I'm with Snowy on this one - you were already in the outside lane, and increase of 3mph is like a pulse in these cars, it was hardly like you put your foot down!
Coming off the slip road, so many people automatically aim for the outside lane without looking, classic example. Only person in the wrong was the van driver here.
Besides, if the mirrors are that blind, ie you can't see, don't pull out till you can see!

Exactly....but would the police or road safety aholes ever pursue a campaign to remind people to use their eyes ?

Nooooo, that would be too sensible, it would interfere with their current road death policy where they are encouraging deaths, rather than trying to save lives.

not wanting to troll here but it was clear as day what she was going to do, we all make mistakes but it serves us well to read the conditions too, it wasn't a 3mph blip it sounded like purposeful acceleration to get past. Look at the van again its "body" language states clearly its going for the overtake before its even into lane 1

but then I know mr perfect here will now get sideswiped tomorrow!
