Correct welcome to the world of bringing Maloo's into the country
We have to first wait for customs clearance (which has taken 2-3 weeks recently)
then and only then can we book a fuel test. (this is usually 1 week)
Then once the test is passed the paperwork is sent off to VOSA who then will create the paperwork and make a call to book the IVA test.( Usually another week)
With the closing of most VOSA centres and I think the Leighton Buzzard one is now on a 2 day week this then is usually a 3-4 week delay to get a test date.
Then the retailer has to post all the info to DVLA for Registration as the DVLA offices that we used to walk into with all the paperwork and walk out with a Tex disc no longer exists.
SO I do Agree but that side of things is completely out of our control and thats the annoying part.

Are there any additional hurdles if the car being imported is modified? There are some seriously nice looking Maloos about in Aus!!

Not really, but the car must still comply with the regulations at the time the car was originally manufactured - especially with regard to emissions regulations, which seems to be the highest hurdle to overcome.

Would vauxhall be able to import a second hand vehicle that was on sale at a holden dealership?

They wouldn't want to. They're only interested in selling new cars.

Car hasn't arrived at dealers yet so no fun in the Peak District for me this weekend frown Spoke to Bellingers and they need 3 days to sort it out when it does arrive so looks like another weeks wait for me till I can pick it up just in time for the Sunday Service smile

as the weather has just turned to - and icy. It's probably not a good idea to take a brand new Gen F GTS to the Peak District this weekend on your first drive banghead

If you know the day it lands prior, some of the paperwork and tests could be pre arranged surely? Ringrams was a bit long winded after landing.

Any chance of hurrying mine up for a Jan/feb landing?

No thats the thing none of the parts can be done before the car is physical in Uk and then each point then follows each other.
Cant book tests etc before customs cleared and various other rubbish barriers put in place.
It takes how long it takes unfortu
