Hey guys,

As you may know I've been having issues with my throttle body where i believe one of the sensors is playing up it is a very hit and miss issue where seems to be happening when doing very slight throttle changes in reverse more than not e.g 4 point turn in narrow car park.

Anyway, am i right in thinking that the LS2 6.0l 2007 has an electronic throttle body which is known as fly by wire? - part number - 12570790.

I have read you must be carefull as there are different types and a different throttle body where the blade opens up a different direction?

I am looking at this item on ebay and since it is using the global shipping program I believe won't cost me anything more to the door. Heres the ebay item number just chuck it into the search bar on ebay uk = 200984362352.

If this is the correct part it means I can get it to my door for £335, I'm tempted to use this as a test of the global shipping program ready for me buying a fast which I will also be asking a few questions about at some point.

I know a frw others have had issues of late so if this part is good perhaps I can email about a deal etc..

Thanks,
chris

Hi, had issues with the throttle body on mine for a while. Hope this works for you, not started pricing up replacement ones yet and just an issue I live with (as it only affects the car when cold for the first minute or so) but really need to sort out.

For the sake of the difference (£75?) I'd buy the comfort factor of a UK based warranty, knowing I wouldn't potentially be disabled for a significant time trying to sort a replacement.

I also totally agree. Yes it is cheaper from US and £75 is a lot of money but I would really have the uk warrantyyes
but what if that doesn't cure the fault will they take it back?? I think not

No part number on your current throttle body which you can compare it too?

Hey guys,

sorry i havnt been on sooner.

Yea my cars a vxr8. What is the cheapest UK price then guys as i can only find it for £420 si i'd be saving £85 but I know exactly what you are saying I'm gonna have a think, find out what my one actually is p/n and whether its a silver or gold throttlebody blade.

Perhaps ask the gm dealership who are selling it from the USA, what kind of warranty it would come with as it states it is genuine GM parts.

I'll keep you posted on what I do/ how it goes.

Cheers

I can only comment on the Global Shipping but in theory it makes things simpler but in practise it gets complicated once in the UK as your not exactly sure which courier is going to deliver. The process took longer for me than using USPS/Parcel Force or a single courier such as Fedex.

Thanks BIM wink

I can confirm that the part number on mine (LS2 6.0l vxr8) is: GM 12 570 790 and it has to have a silver blade.

You can also use AC Delco or ACdelco pn 217-1617 i believe.

I am just checking with the gm dealer in USA about warranty he did say they can be exchanged at all GM dealers but not a chance of that working outside the USA i reckon smile
