This bad boy only weighs 20.4lb apparently. Would something like this with a standard ls9 clutch work?

That would be intended for a single disc clutch

Stock Flywheel for a 2006 GTO (24 lbs). Stock plate and disc for GTO (26 lbs). Total = 50

LS7 aluminium flywheel RAM 2552 (17 lbs). LS7 plate and disc (33 lbs). Total = 50

LS7 steel flywheel (27 lbs). LS7 plate and disc (33 lbs) Total 60

I installed a RAM flywheel + LS7 Clutch/Cover on my LS1 and using bathroom scales got ~21KG (47 lbs) so not far off the above copied from a random thread. My Aim was to get the LS7 clutch down to the original LS1 clutch weight.
I guess this from bimble sounds like the best option for me.

I have the LS7 clutch with aluminium flywheel and it's lovely. All this talk about it being harder to drive is a bit over the top I'd say, it takes a special kind of effort to stall a 6 litre V8, I haven't managed it yet!

It's perhaps a little less smooth when gently on / off the throttle etc. and crawling along, but that is it being more responsive, which is what you're after!

Of course I'm NA with an LS2 so I only make about 13bhp anyway hehe

By chatter, i think he means the gearbox chatter that is very prevalent on VXR8 under high load low RPM conditions once you put a lighter flywheel / clutch in. Not take up chatter.
Correct ! Thank you Roger

All this begs the question. with only delivery mileage on your car Rich ( wink ) why such an upgrade in clutch? What power are you looking to coax out of it eventually?

Ha!, I'll have you know it clicked over 15k just the other day !
I guess, like most here, I want more than enough, but less than enough to blow it up smile
