Car I has not been used as much since I moved to the West Country, so after one dead battery I purchased a new one with a solar trickle charger.

The new battery has gone flat, I've checked I hadn't left any lights on and I did a voltage check when I fitted the new one. I have a small current draw and before I start pulling fuses I noticed the clock is not turning off, if I remember rightly this would turn off once the car was locked. I went out last night and I could see it there all green..... Still showing the time!

Car is fitted with a parrot kit, which recently had a new controller but apart from that it is a run of the mill ls2 vxr monaro.

Anyone come across this? Or knows if the clock should switch off, I'm doubting myself a bit now as it's not something I really remember looking at.....

Clock and everything else should turn off when you open the door to get out controlled by the courtesy light switch on the a post which has a common issue of sticking .

I have just fitted a new battery and use the car intermittently now. I've not rigged up a trickle charger so try to charge the battery once a week. On my laboratory power supply I notice it does take significant charge so their is a drain some where.

My car was fitted with a tracker and I wonder if it is this?

I guess you need to disconnect the battery and monitor the drain with a suitable DVM. Unfortunately the draw maybe intermittent, periodic, so you may need to watch it or log it, maybe an app for an I phone required smile

I've had a look into this some more today, I see a few posts on the us sites that point to either ignition barrel failure or bvm loom shorting behind the glove box, I did have that fail a few months ago so I'll look there first. Fingers crossed
