dropped some oil when J stopped at breakfast meet. When we got to Beaulieu Jamie noticed oil on OSF wheel. Topped up oil. Looks like front crank seal or sump. No burning oil just dropping and coming out underneath at speed. Oil pressure okay. Stayed safe and called RAC

Hopefully not too drastic for Jamie after recent expenditure

as above really,

thanks for allowing us to infiltrate your ranks for breakfast and the drive over, good to meet you all,

thought the tour guide was excellent, giving info and stories relating to the exhibits that you would not normally hear about.

Thanks again,

Darren & Lez

Despite me going off and selling my Monaro and buying a leaky old Fcensoredd, you guys on this forum really came through and 'saved' the day!!!
There I was, sat there, cold and soggy, chewing on a failure of a bacon sandwich... when, in the distance... the rumble of thunder!!! The guys had arrived!!! clap I was a happy chappie!!!

Thanks for making it and showing your support. Through your attendance and the raffle (so pleased all of you won the top prizes - And I didn't even 'fix' it!) we raised about £300.

If any of you would like to check out what I'm up to with my fund raising and you think this is something you would like to support then please take a look... https://www.justgiving.com/ChallengeJamie

I'll plan the next meet on a dry day and when my car is fixed thumbup

It wasn't the best end to a wet rainy day:

Thanks guys.

One look at this picture, and you can forgive the car EVERY hissy-fit it has. cool

Is it the Mustang that has two-piece crank seals, that are prone to leaking anyway?

Just look at that picture. It breaking must be like being married to Charlize Theron, but she insists on separate rooms.

I have no idea about the crank seals confused
I spoke to the garage this morning. Their initial thought is that they might have knocked the sump when tilting the engine to fit the new cam. I don't quite understand how that could have happened, but I'll happily take a sump seal over a crank case seal any day!!!

I'm just a bit disappointed they let me take it away like that. I'm trying hard not to get cross about it, but the reality is that had I done more than just the first drive home and then to Beaulieu yesterday where we all spotted the oil slick, I could have needed a whole new block. Having spent a small fortune on the top-end rebuild already, I would have gone nuclear on them I think. I am however, beginning to get tired of the same old excuse of "well, it's a classic car". I knew I'd come up against 'issues' with owning such a car, but as yet, I've not had a chance to properly enjoy it; And as ARAF has said, if it didn't look so nice, I'd have fallen out of love with it by now (and don't even get me started on the water leaks!?) frown

I think the whole car is going to need a steam-clean or some serious degreasing to get rid of the oil which has gone EVERYWHERE!!! weeping Any ideas for when I get it back?

I think you have a big decision to make, and autumn is probably the worst time to make it. However, with the winter ahead, my options would be to get it as right as possible and advertise it, or look to add a modern power plant, so that you can enjoy it next year. I don't know if there is anyone like PWP in the Ford world????

I'm already considering the first option... frown
