Just taxed mine for a year the thriving barstards!

Won't use it all the time but like to be able to if the weathers nice.

Cocoon is a good idea if it's a decent one and has a dehumidifier fitted.

I took mine for a savvage thrash last weekend before giving it a wax and putting it away. Cheque for the road tax refund arrived yesterday.

I start a new job in London in 3 weeks and will be catching the train every day. Don't know when I'll get the opportunity to use the Monaro except the odd weekend.

Wait until it snows, you'll be walking instead. They are lethal.

Use the R8 year round too, I never understand this, we don't drive Ferraris or Lambos where I could accept the winter housing idea. Unless it's a winter like we had in 2011, generally snow and salt exposure is at a minimum...

The reason I don't use it over the winter is I'm in a lucky position in that I have a new Astra to hammer down the winter salted roads( Monaro isn't under sealed ) and if the snow does fall I have a Disco to help avoid the traffic jams and go down the lanes smile. ... And giving tax to the government for a vehicle that is parked up really grates me...

I've owned mine since new. I have 2 other, more practical cars and a motorbike to choose from. Paying £500 tax and enduring 14mpg fuel economy whilst sliding around in an 800hp, rwd car does not appeal. The paint on my car, apart from a couple of stone chips is original and immaculate. I should really sell it but I know I'd regret it and nobody would pay the £20k it would take to make me part with it. I've spent too much on it to let it go for a song so I keep it nice and use it on sunny days.

My previous monaro was driven through the last bad winter (2011) and I only got caught out twice which was my own stupid fault.

if its got white stuff on top and more than 0.1 degree incline, you'll be going nowhere!
