not so different this way, just saying that we live next to Germany so there is a bigger market capacity. Wonder how many c63's made it in America?
Live next to Germany? We are owned by it!Interesting comparison on track between then gen-f and the C63 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at46KJLmLXc

Pssst. That's an E63. Not a C63.So much speculation regarding C63 running costs but, I can't see why you're worried.
Outlay: Cheapest saloon approx £25k (2008+). Cheapest Coupe approx £35k (2011+)
MPG: High Teens combined
Tax: £500pa
Insurance: Dependent on circumstance
Servicing: £250 approx - £500 approx
So, as you can see costs are comparable to the German V8 competition. The VXR8 is of course much cheaper to buy if we're talking first generation cars but the rest stays the same.
Horror stories come from people who:
1. Constantly melt the tyres, then claim that the C63 naturally eats tyres and say it's expensive. If you drive normally, and by that I mean mixed, they'll last just fine.
2. Tell you that when they break, they are horrifically expensive to repair. This is unproven because quite simply the engine has proved massively reliable with only early models requiring modified head-bolts. That was expensive yes but it's no longer an issue.
3. Tell you that Servicing is expensive. I fear that these people are quoting servicing with brakes inclusive, which is either true or untrue; if you opt for carbon composite brakes then yes, discs are £1k each BUT, if you don't have these then the regular discs are no worse than the competition; actually quite reasonable.
4. Tell you that MPG is awful. To be honest, it's a V8 and any V8 is going to be bad however, this engine is actually on the more efficient side and on a run can return 25mpg. Again, no Prius but what do you expect?! It's again in line with competing cars and, not far off some turbo hatchbacks in the real world.
To be honest, I don't think its a bad place to put your money if you're in the market for that type of car and you are realistic that about performance car running costs. Depreciation isn't done yet for sure so, sensible people will still be buying these on finance and only paying the depreciation, if not less, in their time of ownership. When they drop below £20k then I'd expect to see more cash buyers as there of course is less to lose now that the car is worth less.

no its terrible. Its inefficient. My average commute MPG of a mix of stop start, motorway and A roads is 25 to 26mpg. If I cruise at 70 I get 35mpg and thats with 7.0ltrs"Generalised statement but basically true."
LOL Roger - Oxymoron and you know it!
There are Indies out there that are Indies precisely because they DON'T want to like main dealers!
My only dealing with my local Merc Dealer was when I had a stbox of a Diesel company car and found them to be be nothing by pleasant. Yes, some may have an 'attitude'...but only if you let them
