I have a 56 plate 2006 6.0 Monaro - I am thinking of buying a code reader - which ones work, any recommendations please

I am thinking I don't want to spend a whole lot of cash but I guess there's no point in buying something that doesn't work - like the guy selling cheap parachutes who says, I have never had anyone come back and complain...

I would work under the premise all basic ODB readers are limited, and get a bluetooth jobber for ~£5 (pair to smart phone), or splash out for one with a built-in screen/buttons (£15-20?). I use a flashscan, but that's probably overkill for DTCs.

Ive got a maxi scan, decent enough to read and clear any codes.

I use a £15 dongle I bought on ebay for my iPhone. It used bluetooth and has always been excellent, the app that talks to it is called Torque and it can read most codes from the ECU and were required wipe them etc. It's been the best £15 I've ever spent lol
