Hi All,

Could any of you please let me know how to safely remove the rear view mirror from the mount on the front screen ?
Apologizes if this sounds like a daft question, but the last thing i want to do is crack the front screen.

Thanks in advance !!

Lots of upwards force! Took far more effort than I thought it would need TBH when I swapped mine out.

Not sure about a better mirror, as i haven't fitted it yet, but just received a replacement / upgrade one from the states, its a crimestoppers SV-9159 with autodim & a DVR front facing camera built in, and has a switchable tft screen built in behind the mirror.

Will let you know how well it works / easy to fit once its in.
Hoping to fit this next weekend when i am brave enough to remove the headlining, as i will be replacing the stock radio Ariel to a duel fm/dab one at the same time.

Same setup as mine then. Replacement looks better than stock with loads more features. smile

Any tips on the fitting ? Is it fairly easy with the obvious basic knowledge / care ?
Also what solution did you use for the differences in the stock bracket and the one found on the upgraded mirror ?? As at this point I am struggling to find a adapter or way of changing the bracket without completely removing the stock bracket mount from the screen, and I have visions of cracking it !?!?

The mirror I brought had an adaptor that went over the fitting on the screen however I found my aftermarket mirror fitted onto the screen fitting just like the OEM one.

I have just fitted the mirror, and yes it just mounts to the stock window bracket nice and easily.
So next i have the fun and joy's of removing the headlining next weekend and wiring it all in.

It looks great in place of the standard one, and still looks very OEM.

So far so good smile

Removing the Headlining... why?

You can access the roof area through the central light and glasses holder, this way you can secure the cables from the A pillar so they dont rattle. I ran the camera feed up through the A pillar and along the kickplates, easy if a little time consuming.

BTW - is it easy to remove theheadlining as Id love to get mine covered in Alcantara!
