You can only drive one at once Gareth, the more V8s you have, the less guilty you should feel as you're stopping other people driving them wink

With my V8, I produce less CO2 than someone driving an ecobox 25k per year. Guilt assuaged.

There never seems to be reference to the additional national grid loading, electric cars may be good but the impact on the environment is simply further up the line from the power station used to charge them and further down the line to dispose of the toxic batteries.

Added to the fact that conversion from fossil fuels to electricity is only about 50% efficient.

The Leaf is approx. 9 times better than the Monaro, the UK generation mix yielding round 40g/Km Co2 rather than 360g/Km.

Some small diesels are under 100 g/Km so probably running electric cars close when you consider construction and recycling costs.

I don't find the laggy throttle response, clattery start up and narrow power bands of diesels acceptable after a smooth, flexible petrol V8, so it had to be an electric motor.

I can now get a replacement battery for £5000, that is less than Vauxhall wanted for a crappy old school manual gearbox smile

This is good as your freeing up g/kg for the rest of us to utilise! smile
