Stupid fuel tank relocation
Discussion
Went to look at at very low mileage 56 plate monaro yesterday. All lovely until I opened the boot, eh, where's half the boot gone? Argh wasn't expecting that! Sorry old news, I'm sure, but boot capacity is quite important to me - humph. Was the original location for the fuel tank really that dangerous?

Only for US legislation. I've never heard of any problems with the original location. Still, if you're now looking for one with a bigger boot, you should save yourself some money on the road tax, as most (if not all) were registered before the tax hike in March 2006.I was under the impression that the fuel tank relocation was to accommodate the dual exit exhaust?
It's a coupe at the end of the day though, it was never really going to be all that practical. I mean even with the seat folded forward its a bit of a squeeze for anyone to get in the back.

Vxr8 is probably the answer. It's just I'm a sucker for a coupe, don't know quite why. Disappointed as I had the maths all worked out.
At the risk of a total flameage...have you seen a VXR8 and Monaro side by side ? For me the choice became a no brainer once I had I initially was after a Monaro VXR and attended a local meet to have a nosey around some cars, there were around 7 or 8 Monaro's of various guises and then James in his blue VXR8. Within a month I had one of the 25 blue VXR8's sitting on my drive (with a HUGE boot)
