I don't know tbh, this is my first V8 and haven't modified it yet. Was hoping for some collective wisdom
I do drive my car round town a lot so really need the low speed to be nice but would like big top end numbers.
Before you start messing with it, it may be an idea to see what the warranty situation is. I think your new motor will have more than enough poke to start off with.I do drive my car round town a lot so really need the low speed to be nice but would like big top end numbers.

Have come across this "simple" conversion for LS engines to retrofit variable valve timing http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/hrdp-1007-gms-.... Looks like it could be an interesting mod to help with drivability on higher power specced cams.
What are peoples thoughts on it?
It is interesting. Very much so. Shame that the earlier cars ECU's cant support it.What are peoples thoughts on it?
But that said, with the supercharger, even with a good cam which will make more top end power, you will still have more torque early on than you can possibly use.
Great idea for N/A but less so in your case.

omeone has to be the crazy fool to try it to see if there is any benefits!
If you've deep enough pockets for the tiny gains...and unknown reliability, go for itBut when it's easy to get known good gains for a fraction of the cost with conventional tuning setups....it just makes little sense
