Sold my big boot VXR Monaro a few years back to help to fund buying a house, its been hard driving a van all this time but needs must. I need one back in my life or even a VXR8. My dilemma is after six months of looking, nothing seems to fit the bill. Spec v's Cost stops me even enquiring. Some of the VXR8's seem to be over priced since the new one was available. I know this is a small market so may have to be patient. Does anyone think after having a Monaro that an E46 M3 (the V8 is just out of budget) could scratch my itch, as there are a lot more available.

Totally different machine to drive but also very nice, allbeit getting a little old now. Try and see what you think.

Overpriced VXR8's, not to my knowledge if they are clean, sensible miles and modded. I couldn't replicate mine for less than 30k now so similar ones going for low 20's seem a bargain!

I think your problem is that Monaro prices bottomed a couple of years ago - just about the time that you sold, and VXR8 prices seemed to do the same last year. There's not enough of them to satisfy the demand, so prices are staying buoyant.

Does it have to be a manual? If not, and your also looking at BMWs, then this 550 BMW would be a cheaper alternative.

Thanks S800VXR, maybe I need to see some bad ones when they come up around the 15k price range to we what you mean. It's just that I vaguely remember some new VXR8's selling new for around the 24k (may be wrong). So that's why I thought the 20k ones seemed high. But at the end of the day I understand it's market led. I also thought maybe with the prices of the new model being so high dealers may be looking at the pricing wrong.
Thanks ARAF, I really don't want an auto, I don't like the disconnected feeling the torque converter gives.

The VXR8 market is quite firm at the moment, Picadors in Southampton had an 09 VXR8 in stock totally original with 10k miles on the clock advertised for £23k.

Sold within a week...........

If you see something you like don't hang about but do ask on here as anything advertised is generally known.

Good luck.

Back in a V8 woohoo thanks to James at Elite, 1st drive in a VXR8 was four and a half hours drive home yesterday, good job I like it. Don't have any pics at the minute before you ask, but its the blue one. Thanks for the help, glad I didn't waste time looking at BMW's, I don't know what it is about these cars but nothing does it for me like the RO did and now the R8.

I thought that was the law?
