hi all,

I am lloking to replace my corsa VXR with a VXR8 which i have wanted for ages but due to age the insurance has nailed me.
Now im 25 the insurance has dropped to little over £600 for a year which is what i pay for the corsa.

I need something bigger for a family car as we are expecting a youth in june so a vxr8 is the way to go.

What should i be looking out for when purchasing one?

Also people with kids what baby seats/bases are you using as i know they dont have isofix points.

Base your purchase on conditon as with such a large engine a few miles is nothing to these cars. Mods are nice but in your case could get expensive.

Front arms tend to get a hard time and knock when worn but no great issue to replace. Check the brakes as they are a little more pricey to swap out when worn.

To be honest so long as the cars been looked after then you should be fine.

Nope, they don't.

Choice of Baby Seat will depend on whether or not you need to the seat out on a regular basis - and as you're expecting, you don't want to be upsetting the little one by faffing around with seatbelts when you want to take the baby seat out.
I used a Maxi Cosi easy Base 2 which stayed in the car and the baby seat simply clipped into it so that removing it took one press - in fact we had the same base in both cars so it was really simple to use.

Are you sure you're not a bit too young for a VXR8?

I mean this in so far as generally they're a retirement present to go with the incontinence pants and slippers. Someone of your age should have a Monaro thumbup

If you do go for an R8, be prepared for further stick of this nature hehe

2 door cars, for people who have no friends lol

OP Good luck on your search, great cars, find one you fancy and post it in here to see if anyone knows its history.

LOL

Have a drive of both, I know what one you will go for biggrin
Mileage should not be a problem, most niggles have usually been sorted, check discs are ok, can be pricey if worn out, mods will bump up premium.
