Missed out on another one
Discussion
Hi
As per title I have missed out on another Monaro this time in Kent made arrangements to go see it and then it went, not too fussed what I want CV8 or VXR 5.7 or 6.0 they all seem to be a million miles away or not right don't really want a silver one but any other colour would be good. Got £7,000 to play with but can go to £8000 for the right one. Kev

Does look a bit of a steal at that price with those miles, and what on the outside looks a pretty straight car, even if you needed to spend a few hundred ££££'s just to tart it up.
Even though I run LPG, I'd make sure it is properly certificated (UKLPG) and working properly with no errors (normally just down to the mapping).

Just dump the LPG. Its a muscle car, not a fork lift. Even though I run LPG, I'd make sure it is properly certificated (UKLPG) and working properly with no errors (normally just down to the mapping).

From Belfast eh? Haven't seen it around before.
Seems ridiculously cheap.
I was offered this car last month from an Ireland Dealer, as reg plate is the same. he was trying to deal with owner on a PX. it was offered to me as an LS1 5.7 as thats what reg doc said. but now looks like a 6.0 VXR Seems ridiculously cheap.
It was described as a bit of a creature and way below average condition !! said it had lots of paintwork, scruffy and had overspray on most panels and very kerbed alloys. car was offered at around £6k. no S/History so miles were unwarranted. He said it looked like it had done more
he said if someone had the time it could be smartened up a bit or maybe broken for spares as it required a lot money for proper refurb
Still good value to the right person now its appears its a 6.0
due to location, unconfirmed mileage and condition - I declined

LPG was never mentioned and I cant see it in pics
Ah he mentioned it in the advert (well, put lpg in brackets a couple of times)Sorry, I edited my post with a picture after you two had replied
Looks like a bargain but sounds like a money pit... could be either but these cars can be expensive to put right and if I was in the market I would prefer to buy something sorted and enjoy.
You could easily spend a few thousand on an exhaust, clutch, brakes, etc. Mine had over 7k spent on it the year before I bought it (mainly on modifications at WP) and even then it had 'a clunk'.... which cost way too much to fix!
It stated that it had 'a clunk' at the bottom of a 6.6k receipt
The cheap ones seem to change hands more frequently... I wonder why that is

Yup I won't be going to Belfast anytime soon thanks for everybodies replies I looked at one last month that was cheap and that was going to be a money pit to get back to anything reasonable let alone good so there is always a reason they are cheap, I know these cars can make you poor and am willing to work with them but I don't really want to be on a loser from the word go, also it is advertised on a website called driftworks and that implies it has been used for drifting so had a hard life, and as put they are muscle cars, so LPG has a no place, for me fuel costs are not a problem. I know I am asking a lot for the money I have, it just seems they have started to go up in value and what could have brought a nice car a year ago buys a mediocre car today. Silver is easy to keep clean looking.
