hi Guys am looking for as much info on a car I now own, who has owned it and what did you do to it. am looking for as much info engine / gearbox and diff etc good or bad. the car is S600 VXR I think a lot of people know this car and the shady past(may be not the right word lol) it has had. the last owner I bought it from had very little info, so I contacted Monkfish and they gave me a bit of history as to what they have done to the car. I will say its an awesome car and I will be owning it for a long time to come. since I have owned it I have done 4000 miles and it makes me smile every time lol if you have any info on this car please PM me or post.
Thank you all in advance for reading this and taking the time to reply.

Can of worms. Not really. It's a very good car. At one point it was one of the fastest out there and with some serious money spent on it it could be again but TBH with about 550hp its more than enough for the road. Don't bother "tuning" it for more as Monkfish got all they could out of it and made it as good as you can.

Granted it had history but that's well gone now and the idiot who caused the issues no longer abuses cars.

You do know it's a 402ci don't you? (You have no engine build receipts, hence the Q)

Is it? I had no idea anyone had stroked a Monaro over here, cool! (hehe)

Mine was also stroked to the same capacity by the same bloke but I had a bigger supercharger too. Not a good combination because whilst it made good power, it made too much torque low down and was always spinning the back wheels. Sounds fun but it was horrible to drive in the wet.

402, MF cam, forged assembly. Needs a much bigger charger to get enough air in now or increase the comp. rip shifter, Pedders coilovers, Harab (spelling!) diff cover, Pedders bushed, Noltec offset top front mounts, APs. There you go.

Oh and it made about 460whp from memory, massive torque but the power collapses over 5k due to the configuration.

Enjoy it and bin the now very old 634hp dyno chart as that's pre rebuild.

I'd have thought the cheapest route back into the 600s was upping the compression ratio, though long-term you may want a bigger power adder. I'm guessing that spinning the charger faster ends up overloading the capacity of the chargecooler? It's odd that I'm targeting around 550hp with a NA 6.7-litre stroker and this only makes a little more with the charger.

At 9.5:1 the CR was fine but the blower was too small for it. As I said, stick a TVS2300 or Heartbeat blower on it and it would make 600whp same as mine did. The problem is you need to over spin the blower so IATs become a real balls ache. It might work well with a big Centri on it.

It would be interesting to find out how much it would cost to buy and fit that kit of yours.

cheers for the info and a big thanks to S800VXR. love the car how it is,and at the moment have no immediate plans to modify further. being a technician was just trying to get a picture as to what I will be letting my self in for if I take the engine apart. yes I new it had been stroked but was mislead as to size because what I was told (slightly bigger) didn't add up lol. any idea what block LS2 or LS3? standard heads ?

You're better off sending a pm to S800, as he had it built, but IIRC it is still the original block, which was an LS2.

Pretty sure it's a stock LS2 block with stock 4" bore and 4.0" crank. That makes 402ci or 6.6L.Definitely not an LS3. Will have stock 243 LS2 heads which are fine.

No point taking it apart, get a bigger supercharger on it.

LS2 stroked and stock heads.

Remember it was run low on oil by the guy who brought it from me so it would be worth doing the bottom end shells if you do strip it as they may have been tickled a little although it's still going ok.

All the speakers, crossovers etc are Vibe stuff as well. Head unit was put in be someone else but it should sound good.

Keep an eye on the front wheels as there is a nats bk for clearence to the bottom spring plateform! There 9" wide so a little OTT.
